You might be surprised by the amount of sugar in some of these beverages or if you have been following me, then you are not surprised at all! We often compare sugar amounts with packets of sugar. Most packets are about a teaspoon of sugar.
So if a can of soda had 12 packets in it, you might say, this can of soda has about 12 teaspoons. And you can then ask a child, would you put 17 teaspoons of sugar in your glass?
This infographic has a little twist. It shows amount of sugar in a beverage comparing it to another sugary treat that kids may be more familiar with. So for example, a soda is compared to 2.6 scoops of ice cream from Baskin Robbin.
