Celebrate farm to school month with children

This month is National farm to school month.
Farm to School is b any program that connects schools (K-12) and local farms. The goal of this program is to help schools:
serve healthy meals
help children eat healthier and improve their overall nutrition intake by providing fresh, ripe produce that is in season
help kids learn where food comes from
provide nutrition education opportunities
build relationships with local and regional farmers that is mutually beneficial
The Farm to School Organization reports that participating school meals results in consumption of more fruits and vegetables with an average increase of 0.99 to 1.3 servings per day, including at home.
