Posted on Oct 13, 2010 by Maggie LaBarbera

We are entering the cold and flu season.  Good handwashing is the number one method to help reduce the chances of catching germs.
Here is a quick reminder
Model hand washing for your children!. If they see you washing your hands it will be a good reminder to them.
  • Wash hands together and make it fun!
  • Teach them to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" while washing hands (20 seconds).
  • Have your child pick out a special hand washing soap.
  • Help your child reach the sink by placing a stool in front of it for them to stand on when you are with them.
Teach them to wash their hands.

Children should wash hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds after using the bathroom, before and after handling food, after playing with pets, and after playing with toys inside or outside.
