Nourish Interactive Participates in USDA My Pyramid Corporate Challenge

The USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) launched an initiative called MyPryamid Corporate Challenge. The campaign is designed to partner with companies from all sectors with the common goal of promoting healthy eating and physical activity. As partners with the USDA, companies will create specific marketing campaigns that will reach out to their customer base to promote the MyPyramid concept. In recent press about the campaign the USDA discussed its goals for this program which included the following perspective from Maggie LaBarbera RN MBA, President and Founder of Nourish Interactive:

"the food pyramid is usually held in high regard by consumers, which makes it a good centerpiece for a campaign. When the message comes from multiple industries, it helps the initiative," she added.

Nourish Interactive is committed to fighting childhood obesity through early nutrition education and has been supporting the USDA MyPyramid values through its interactive Food Pyramid based tools such as its nutrition based meal planner and nutrition game Bon Appetite Game. Now, Nourish Interactive has expanded its support by becoming an official participant of the USDA MyPyramid Corporate Challenge. As an official USDA partner, Nourish Interactive created and launched a food pyramid game called Chef Solus and the Food Pyramid Adventure game designed to teach families about the balance between nutrition and exercise.

As a partner, Maggie LaBarbera has been formally invited to participate in the official USDA program launch in Washington DC on June 10, 2008 to showcase Nourish Interactive online food pyramid nutrition education games.
