This month Kaitlin and Kevin were in a hurry to begin our exploration into a new section of the pyramid. They were so excited that they decided to skip breakfast so they could start our adventure right away. But they found out that starting the day without breakfast is like driving a car without stopping to fill up the gas tank. They got very tired and did not have enough energy to finish our adventure. Did you know that your body never turns off, even when you sleep? Breakfast fills your “empty tank” to get you going after a long nights rest without food. Create a breakfast food collage. Cut out pictures of healthy breakfast choices from newspapers, magazines or draw them yourself. Use your imagination and find foods that are not commonly thought of as breakfast foods, such as leftover pizza, rice, or tortillas. Hang the collage in the kitchen so that it will remind you and your family to make healthy breakfast choices!
