National Dairy Month celebrates with Photo Challenge

June is National Dairy Month!  The theme this year is Doing Good With Dairy with a focus on the local farmers and community.     dairy food group

The National Dairy Council is having a photo challenge each day this week.  If you would like to participate, you can take a picture or write a post/tweet about what you and your family are doing.  If you want to participate, they ask that you be sure to tag Dairy Good on Facebook or tweet at @DairyGood and use the #thinkfood hashtag on Twitter!

 

Day 1 – Monday, June 10
Donate nutrient-rich foods, like dairy, to your local food pantry
 
Day 2 – Tuesday, June 11
Explore the best ways to reduce, reuse and recycle food packaging and food waste
 
Day 3 – Wednesday, June 12
How dairy foods can fit in to meal planning for consumers who are conscience of preparing meals with local ingredients
 
Day 4 – Thursday, June 13
Grow your own herbs or fruits/vegetables to prepare healthy meals
 
Day 5 – Friday, June 14
Share ways to make food products last longer – i.e., storage tip, reusing leftovers, etc. – so less is wasted
