Posted on Mar 05, 2012 by Maggie LaBarbera

Happy National Nutrition Month everyone!

The theme this year is "Get Your Plate In Shape!" with all the healthy foods of the food groups.

This is an exciting month with a great focus on healthy foods.  Schools, organizations and healthcare organizations around the world are all joining together to help children learn about healthy habits.

The new My Plate and the my pyramid are both great tools to help children learn the foundation of healthy foods.  The five food groups are all part of a healthy balanced meal and in the right amounts provides the essential nutrients that all children need to grow healthy and strong.

This week is also "National Breakfast week".  So this is a great  week to combine these two national events.  Get your Breakfast Plate in Shape!
