Cooking is such a great way for kids to learn about healthy foods while creating meals and trying new recipes.

Teachers, Home Schools, Youth Leaders or Parents

Join Healthy Kids Challenge in its 10th year offering healthy cooking fun for 7th and 8th graders with the "Stirring Up Health™" National Middle School Recipe Contest! Educational partners include Johnson & Wales University and Home Baking Association.

Kids learn basic food preparation and cooking skills they'll use throughout life, with this hands-on experience. Engage the kids you know to create or modify a recipe to make it healthier, using USDA MyPlate guidelines.

 

WHEN:    Contest is open September 1, 2011 - March 2, 2012
  Winners announced March 30, 2012
WHO:   Open to all kids currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade
WHAT:   Entry rules, contest categories, prizes
