Keeping kids safe while playing mobile apps infographic

Wednesday Nourishing Graphics:

We are happy to share this infographic that further tells the story about the nourishing value of monitoring apps on mobile devices.

We are happy to enter the mobile device arena with some games that your child can play and enjoy while learning about healthy foods.  This new game is very simple and really is focused on helping kids associate healthy foods with fun.

But we do want to remind you that kids need to be monitored when using mobile devices.  It is just like the computer, there needs to be boundaries and parents need to be very in tune with what their child is playing on their device.

The best way to monitor the child's game apps is to actually play it yourself.  This way you can be sure that the child is

  • not being asked to give money to access additional features
  • not being exposed to bad language
  • not being introduced to bad habits
  • not being subjected to violence
  • not being required to provide personal information
  • not being marketed to with unhealthy commercials and ads

This is the only way for you to be sure that your child is being protected and is playing in a safe environment online.  We need to think of apps like a place.  Would you let your child go to any place without you first ensuring that it is safe.  Think of the internet and apps the same way, it is just online.

We bring this up because being safe when you play and learn is part of raising a healthy child.  This is part of the healthy habits that they need to learn.

We do want to assure you that we do not put any advertising in our games.  We continue to maintain our privacy policy and advertising policy even in our mobile apps.
